Project Type: Short Film

Project Title: The Tale of a Village

Brief Synopsis: Set in 1924 Ireland, The Tale of a Village tells a story of 17-year-old Margaret, a curious and imaginative girl living with her father and older sister. When the Church begins to confine all unmarried girls, her father prepares a plan to get them out the village. As Margaret becomes increasingly aware of the suffering around her, an unexpected encounter exposes the system’s cruelty more clearly than she ever imagined. While the family moves toward an uncertain escape, the pressure closing in on them tests their bonds, their freedom, and Margaret’s sense of where she belongs in a world beginning to fall apart.
