Project Title: PAUSE
Brief Synopsis: In a culture that glorifies constant productivity, especially within diasporic and creative spaces, PAUSE exaggerates the act of pausing until it becomes visible, powerful, and Holy. Contemporary and urban movements are used as languages of freedom and faith. In this work, dance becomes prayer — a physical response to God’s invitation to “be still.” The film blends movement, silence, and breath to remind us that rest is not weakness but preparation: the space where healing gathers its strength. PAUSE is part of a trilogy — Rewind, Pause, and Fast Forward — exploring reflection, stillness, and acceleration as stages of healing. Without pausing, there is no time to reflect, and without reflection, moving forward loses meaning.
