Brief Synopsis: El lamento de los girasoles tells the salient fact of the prize won by a Spanish composer, Eduardo Soutullo, in St. Petersburg (Russia) in September 2022 with his work ‘Threnus Helianthuses’ (The lament of the sunflowers). It is a vocal symphonic work using verses by the 19th century Ukrainian poetess Lesya Ukrainka, verses of a clearly anti-war character chosen from three of her most famous poems.
