I read the interview with Justin Hunt about Rotten Apple and how he talked about making tough scenes feel real, and that really made me think about how much work goes into film. Last semester when I felt buried in classes I even had to take my online WGU class for me so I could take a break and watch films like this for fun. It reminded me that balance matters in creative work and school.
I really liked how the interview gave insight into Rotten Apple and Justin Hunt’s look at such a serious topic like grooming and assault in schools, showing how film can open tough conversations. Last term when I was juggling big projects and late nights, I even had to hire someone to take my online Management class so I could catch up on readings and still find time to watch films that make me think.
