I am Miriam Tinarelli, author, director, and actress. I discovered my passion for cinema when I was 18 with a school project first, then I decided to learn more about this art doing ateliers and a professional acting school in Paris. I find my peace when I am creating a movie, I am acting or writing. My head is full of ideas that need to be realized some how, and the cinema is the most complete art where I can put this images because everything is linked together, everyone is essential and need to be an artist to partecipate in the creation of a film. What was your first job in the art field? My first job in the art field was as an actress, but before I used to dance, ballet and modern jazz. I love music, it was my salvation.

What makes you want to tell stories? In other words, what are the themes/issues you want to incorporate into your work? I want to give an expression to my thoughts, link them in one creation and I also want to help people through this art, give them the possibility to work on it and give my experience and solutions to how live in a better way. Please tell us about your vision and your method of approaching a new project? The idea comes out without notice. I am very inspired from my real life, I love to analyze how the reality is compared to how it could be in my imagination. I also love to highlight

Who are your filmmaking influencers? What are the films that were influential for you? I love Tarantino, Scorsese, Nolan, and Hitchcock. I love all their movies. The most influential are Shutter Island, Kill Bill, and Memento. How do you think the industry is changing? How has COVID affected independent filmmaking/creation? In my opinion nowadays everything is evolving also thanks to the technology, but I think that to create something original and true we will always need the humans. What advice would you give to aspiring artists? What are some of the things they must follow/ avoid? Follow your dreams, your inspirations, your instinct and just do it and believe it. Everything is for real possible. If you act with your heart everything will come your way.

Do you think films/stories can bring about a change in the world?

Absolutely yes.

What do you think people like to watch these days? Has the pandemic changed people's taste?

I think that people often watch what the media wants them to watch. But a quality product will always win and arrive to people’s hearts.
