Project Type: Short Film
Project Title: THE COFFIN KEEPER [Nínú Igi àti Nínú Eérú]
Brief Synopsis: In a quiet Yoruba town, master coffin maker Pa Alabi lives a life measured in wood shavings, ritual, and silence. Inside his modest workshop, his son Femi grows from a curious child into a skilled apprentice, learning not only the craft of shaping coffins but the emotional weight that comes with preparing vessels for the dead. As the years pass and Pa Alabi’s strength begins to fail, an unfinished coffin lingering in the corner of the shop takes on new meaning. In a final, intimate act of acceptance, the aging craftsman carves his own name into the wood before quietly passing on. Left with grief and legacy intertwined, Femi must step fully into his father’s place, guiding his own young son through the same rhythms of wood and memory.
