Brief Synopsis: It’s 1789. While in Paris, the revolution promises to liberate the people, young Cornelia is trapped in her patriarchal home in rural Germany. She decides to risk it all, as she flees from home to pay a stranger to marry her and take her to Paris in pursuit of a life in freedom. As she meets her future husband, Cornelia discovers that the revolution is not meant for everybody, so she must break free once more. But this time at a much higher cost.
