Bat Diary: An Interview with Silvano Plank



Please tell us about the projects you worked on before making ‘Bat Diary’. How did you start, and how did you learn to make films?

When I was 14 years old my mother bought me an Fuji Single 8 Camera. I made my first experiences by my own and in 1994 after a Video course I started filming and producing Music Video Clips, shortfictions, documentary and animatio movies. They you can see at Youtube or on my Facebook page.


Tell us about ‘Bat Diary’. How do you describe it?

Is an Fantasy/Sci-Fi short with different Ideas as the hollywood productions and of course made with lot of less money. The idea of the diary is special and different too. The clothes are a pit ideas of justice league/UFO/Barbarella and so on.


Please tell us about your favorite filmmakers and your favorite Sci-Fi films.

Favorite Films: UFO, old Star Trek movies, Batman movies…, Blade Runner; (Heroes, Green Mile), My favorite Filmmaker is Clint Eastwood; George Lukas, Luc Besson, Ridley Scott, Christopher Nolan and others…



If you were given a good budget, what would be your ideal project?

1) A movie about Jesus live and being

2) Sci-Fi telling also problems from the future Kis and the mother Earth.A movie made by traveling of persons in  Europe also by train and more on nice places which could be also a Fantasy/Sci-Fi movie with an sense...


Describe how you would ensure that production is on schedule. What steps would you take?

1) Storyboard and Timetable

2) Locations planing and having all the permissions for the takes; cars and what we need

3) Crew and Cast & material/cameras memos and camera team being ready to start

4) production fiew/money controlling and so on 


What was the hardest part of making ‘Bat Diary’.

1) Editing and VFX

At the moment I don´t have an project because I want to have an special idea which nit everyone got
